📈🚀 YOUR FUTURE EMPLOYEE IS ABOUT TO GRADUATE!
School District Five invites businesses and organizations interested in connecting with Career and Technical Education (CTE) opportunities and the future workforce in School District Five to join us on Tuesday, September 15 as we host the CTE Talent Summit.
The event will provide an opportunity for business organizations to understand ways to assist or enhance areas of study at the Center for Advanced Technical Studies (The Center), network with instructors and future graduates for internships or apprenticeships, discuss preparing for the workforce and tour the career technical education facility.
Registration for the event will take place from 8:30-9:00 a.m. Tuesday morning and the event will begin at 9:00 a.m. with lunch provided and conclude at 3:00 p.m. Interested organizations can RSVP to Courtney Williams by September 8 at [email protected].
“Our mission in Career and Technical Education is simple: build the bridge from the classroom to the workplace—connecting students to pathways, skills, credentials, and opportunities that lead to successful careers,” said Director of Career and Technical Education David Prigge, Sr. “This event provides an opportunity for businesses, companies and local organizations to hear how our students and programs can mutually benefit career readiness, workforce development and in return, how as a business they can support our programs, facilities and coursework. Together, we can shape the workforce of today.”
The Center serves grades 9-12 throughout the district and offers a wide variety of specialized courses in 17 CTE programs. Programs include Agriculture/Wildlife Management, Auto Repair Technology, Bioengineering Systems, Biomedical Science, Building Construction, Culinary Arts, Cyber Security/Networking, Digital Art and Design, Drone Technologies, Electrical Systems, Engineering/Engineering Design, HVAC, Law Enforcement, Fire & Rescue, Media Technology, Veterinary Science, and Welding.
