Thank you to Southeastern Freight Lines for making the day even more special. Step into the world of campfires, forest fun, and outdoor creativity! Our weeklong camping-themed camp invites kids to unplug, explore, and play through hands-on activities inspired by the great outdoors. From building mini shelters to crafting with nature and sharing laughs by the fire, campers will experience the joy of camping in a fun, relaxed daytime setting—no overnight gear needed.

Ages 5-13
Please pack a lunch and a water bottle for your child. Snacks are provided. We plan on having hot dogs over the fire for lunch one day that week, so no need to pack on that day. Vegan and gluten-free hot dogs/buns available!

Through a joint effort between our Green Steps, HERO Helpers, and Sprouts and Stewards classes, we recently had the privilege of organizing and participating in a litter cleanup at Seven Oaks Park. Part of our philosophy at HERO is to promote sustainability, community service, cooperation, and to inspire learning beyond the classroom. We are grateful to our Green Steps mentors from The Environmental Education Association of South Carolina for providing the supplies!

Prospective HERO members!
If you are considering HERO for the fall and have not yet joined, this is some info for you. The fall semester begins in August with classes starting in September. The fall 6 month term is from August-January with the cost of classes spread out over the 6 months. You will want to plan to join HERO by the beginning of August. Orientation for all members will be July 31st. Class registration will take place in August as well.
