Having watched Kyle Rittenhouse's testimony and cross, I have observations.
He made a poor decision, but if we're going to prosecute people for making poor decisions, the courts are going to get damn busy!
This seems like a straight forward kid who really just wanted to help. He pi**ed off a rioter, carrying a large chain, for trying to extinguish a burning vehicle, who then chased him, threatened him and threw something at his head. This same rioter then tried to take his weapon from him, which you never, never, ever want to have happen. This got him shot four times. He had to shoot two other individuals, one trying to stomp on his head, with boots, and another who pointed a handgun at his head. The prosecution tried numerous times to get him to admit he wanted to kill the individuals he shot to DEFEND himself. He was well prepped by his attorney and stated numerous times that he fired to stop the threat.
His attorney pointed out several times when he was assaulted with a skateboard and a rock and did not fire at them.
Please note the prosecution actually dug up social media posts and texts where this young man was attempting to be "gangsta".
Take a few moments and watch this yourselves, as I'd say if you're ever involved in a shooting that goes to criminal trial, this is probably what you'll get to experience.
