Hello, families. We are unfortunately not bringing any good news or change to the daycare status. We are still hopeful that we will receive applications and be able to hire quality staff members to become adequately staffed in our daycare.

For now, we are remaining temporarily closed until we are able to fulfill our staffing needs. We are continuing to offer a sign-on bonus and hope to receive applications in the near future.

We apologize for the continued stress this is putting on our families and their childcare needs. Please know we are doing our best to resolve the staffing issues we are faced with.

Hello, families and community. It is with a saddened heart that we have to announce the temporary closure of the West Sioux daycare in Ireton. Due to inadequate staffing, we are needing to temporarily close until further notice. Our daycare staff will remain employed with our daycare and district until we are able to find staffing for the daycare or alternative solutions to the problems we are facing within the daycare.

Starting on Friday, December 23rd, we ask that all of our families have alternative means for their childcare services. We will remain diligent in our attempts to search for and find staff to fulfill our needs in the daycare. We will continue to keep open lines of communication with our families on a regular basis to update them on our progress to find staff for the daycare.

This was a difficult decision for our daycare and district to make and we know how inconvenient of a situation this puts our families in. We apologize for that. Please know that every decision we make is in the best interest of our children, our families, and our community.

Dear families,
We are continuing to advertise and follow up on any leads we receive. We are still offering a working bonus to help supplement the salary to see if this will help attract any applicants. We have had some luck and will be conducting an interview next week for a potential employee. Unfortunately, with the timing of the interview and the work still needing to be done to be adequately staffed, we will still be having to temporarily close after December 22nd until we are able to adequately staff the daycare with potentially the aforementioned applicant or future applicants.

We will continue to look for applicants and a solution to resolve our staffing needs but until then, we are temporarily closing. We ask that our families have alternate means for their childcare needs starting on December 23rd and until further notice. We will send out an update next week or sooner depending on the information we have.

Dear families,
We continue to advertise and follow up on any leads we receive. We are offering a working bonus to help supplement the salary to see if this will help attract any applicants. We have had some luck and recently interviewed a promising part-time employee. Unfortunately, we are still needing a full-time employee and have had no luck with interviewing or filling this position. Because of this, we are currently still stuck with having to temporarily close after December 22nd until our daycare becomes adequately staffed.

We will continue to look for applicants and a solution to resolve our staffing needs but until then, we will be planning to close temporarily. We ask that our families have alternate means for their childcare needs starting on December 23rd and until further notice. We will again send out an update next week (week of December 12th) to keep families informed and up to date on our daycare’s status.

Hello Families,
As some of you may have seen or heard, there is talk about potentially closing the daycare after December 22nd. Unfortunately, those rumors are true. We are extremely short-staffed and have been unable to hire anyone for the positions needing to be filled. Shannon is unable to be in a room due to her injury, and one of our part-time staff members will begin student teaching which will leave us even more short-staffed. It is not a decision that was easy but it seems that this is our only choice for the time being.

We fully understand the stress and uncertainties this leaves for families. We are continuing to look for solutions to keep our daycare open. When and if our daycare is able to be adequately staffed in the future, we will again reopen to care for your children. For now, we ask that you please plan on having alternative means for your childcare needs starting on Friday, December 23rd. Updates will be sent out weekly to keep families informed on how our progress is going to getting back to being fully staffed.

Today kicks off our Soup/Pie(and many other items!) Fundraiser! We have teamed up with the Ireton 1st Reformed RCYF group for this fundraiser! We need to sell a total of 300 items so the company will deliver RIGHT to Ireton! Easy & Simple! Just in time for Fall and the Holidays coming up!
