This Thursday, August 27, is Volleyball camper recognition night.
Where @ Iowa Falls Alden High School
When- Thursday Aug 27
Arrive @ 6:50 pm (to be included in the tunnel for the HS players to run through) Our JJV and JV teams start at 5:30! Feel free to come and support them too!
Varsity will Run in shortly after 7:00 pm, GAME STARTS @ 7:30 pm
Wear your CAMP shirt to get in Free!
Meet in the back hallway by the locker rooms. A coach will be there getting you organized.
Girls will be able to form a tunnel, cheer on our Cadets and be quickly recognized before the start of the game!
You can stand behind the team for the National Anthem and then sit in the stands with your family/friends to watch the game!
We are excited to have you in the audience to cheer us on!

Please bring any lunch money or tech fees to the office

Cross Country practice will begin after school today! There is still time to sign up!

Ready for an amazing year with our amazing students at Riverbend Middle School. Shoutout to our 8th grade students as they begin their final year at RMS! We talked today about the famous quote from Spider-Man, “With great power, comes great responsibility.”

Excited to see how the Class of 2031 lives that and set the tone for our building every day!!

🎉 What a FIRST DAY! ❤️🖤💛

The first day of school at Riverbend Middle School was absolutely FANTASTIC! 🎉🎒

Our halls were filled with smiles, laughter, excitement, and SO much Cadet Pride! ❤️🖤💛 We had an amazing day with our students, and we are already counting down until we get to see them all again tomorrow!

What a great way to kick off the 2026–27 school year! We are ready for an incredible year together!

Cadet Family,

Welcome back! Today marks another exciting first day of school for students across the Iowa Falls and Alden Community School Districts. As we begin a new year, we want to recognize the newest addition to our tradition of Cadet Pride.

Near the end of the classic film The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, a newspaper editor delivers the famous line, “When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.” Today, we are excited to share the story behind the legend of the Cadet mascot.

The story goes that from 1929 to 1936, Walter Officer served Iowa Falls Public Schools as a basketball coach, football coach, and athletic director. During those years, the local newspaper referred to our student-athletes as “Officer’s men”—a name that eventually helped give rise to the Cadet nickname.

Fast-forward nearly 90 years, and we now have a new mascot to help bring Cadet Pride to life. You may have seen him around since the spring, but today we are proud to officially introduce Walt the Cadet!

Walt’s name honors Walter Officer, the former educator, coach, and athletic director whose name played an important role in establishing our Cadet identity. You can expect to see Walt at school events and activities for many years to come.

As another school year begins, we hope our students and staff will think about the legacy connected to their own names. Just as we honor the history behind the Cadet name, may each of us work to create a legacy of which we—and those who come after us—can be proud.

Welcome back, Cadets! Let’s make it a great year.

Happy First Day of School, Riverbend Middle School! 🎉📚 Welcome to all of our new students, and welcome back to all of our returning students! ❤️🖤💛 We are so excited to begin this new chapter together and can’t wait to see all the amazing things this school year will bring.
