Consistent with our Founders' thoughts in 1898, our primary purpose is to create an environment for our members in which lasting friendships and our vows of sisterhood emanate all aspects of our Fraternity. We encourage an atmosphere which will foster high ideals of friendship among college women, promote their educational and cultural interests, create in them a true sense of social responsibility and develop in them high qualities of character.

Emma Hupfeld showcases the value for this week, HUMILITY.

“Humility means acknowledging one’s own strengths and weaknesses; along with recognizing the perspectives of the people we surround ourselves with. Throughout my last few years in ZTA, I have been fortunate to experience the space ZTA creates for each sister to share their ideas and experiences. It is amazing to be a part of a sisterhood that continuously helps and supports each other on their achievements, no matter how big or small. As a senior, I will continue to assist, and support others in a professional and academic environment.”

One week closer to recruitment and one more value highlighted. VP Campus Relations, Claudia Witte, highlights LOYALTY & COMMITMENT!

“In Zeta, we are loyal to ourselves, our sisters, and our chapter we get to call home. We trust each other to be honest and dependable, going above and beyond. Loyalty and Commitment are qualities I always look for in friendship, and finding these in Zeta’s sisterhood means these girls stand beside me and support me through every high and every low. We share a commitment to be there for one another, and I will forever be grateful for finding that in ZTA.”

One week closer to recruitment and one more value shared - LEADERSHIP! As our VP Philanthropy, Charlie Brink shares what leadership means to her.

“A significant takeaway from my ZTA membership thus far is that leadership is so much more than just being the loudest voice in a room. Throughout my time in ZTA, I’ve witnessed many of our members take on various leadership roles, allowing them to contribute to our programming in their unique way. In both my leadership roles within and outside of ZTA, I’ve constantly felt supported and encouraged by the amazing women who surround me. Their belief in me has given me the confidence to take risks and be my best self. I know that the skills I’ve developed through my leadership positions within ZTA, as well as the precious memories and friendships I’ve made while holding them, will carry with me long past the end of my time at Iowa.”

Summer in the city ☀️🌆

We’re counting down to recruitment by highlighting our nine key values!

First up is LIFELONG LEARNING with a message from upcoming senior and VP Academic Achievement, Campbell Wood!

“Lifelong learning means constantly seeking growth by reflecting on experiences and being open-minded to deepen your understanding of the world. I’ve had the privilege of being surrounded by some of the most passionate women in Zeta Tau Alpha who are always striving to become better versions of themselves, and this has strengthened that value in me as well. As a senior, I know learning won’t end when I receive my diploma next spring—it will continue through every job I take, every person I meet, every mistake I make, and every place I go.”
