We’re looking for Iowa sculptors to submit their work to the Iowa City Sculptor Showcase! The showcase puts sculptures on display for two years in various City parks. If you want to apply, or know someone who should, visit our website: www.icgov.org/sculptorsshowcase.

Camps 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, and 9 are full.

1) This cam is FULL. 8 -12 June, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. (ages 4 - 12) RECYCLED ART: Focus Romuald Hazoumè masks and faces. Using recyclables, natural materials and odd junk, create curious creatures and whatever makes you happy. We will have a gallery walk at the end of the week. Bring a snack and a water bottle. $150 (tax included)

2.) This camp is FULL 15- 19 June, 9 a.m.-12 p.m. (ages 4 - 12) RECYCLED ART: Focus on Calder Circus. Using recyclables and odd junk, create circus acts and whatever makes you happy. There will be a performance for those who want to participate, at the end of the week. Bring a snack and a water bottle. $150 (tax included)

3) 22 - 26 June, 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. (ages 4 - 12) MALLEABLE ART and DIORAMAS: Sculpey, oil-based clay, and anything that is malleable. Create dioramas, scenes in boxes, create miniature sculptures and whatever else makes you happy. Bring a snack, and a water bottle. $160(tax and material fees included.)

4) This camp is FULL 29 June - 3 July Clay 9 a.m.-12 p.m. (ages 4 - 12) Water-based clay. Explore various hand building techniques, try your hand at the potter’s wheel. and make whatever else makes you happy! We will press, grasses, herbs and spices, into the clay to experiment color and texture. Bring a snack, and a water bottle. $205 (tax and material fees included)

5) This camp is FULL. 6 - 10, 9 a.m. -12 p.m. (ages 4- 12) Clay: Water-based clay. Explore various hand building techniques and make whatever else makes you happy! Having two clay camps gives more time for practice and experimenting and possible bigger projects. If you choose three clay classes, I will make sure you have different projects to work on. Please, bring snack, and a water bottle. $205 (tax and material fees included)

6) This camp is FULL. 13 - 17 July, 9 a.m.- 12 p.m. (ages 4 - 12) CLAY: Water-based clay. Explore various hand building techniques and make whatever else makes you happy. Try your hand at the potter’s wheel! This camp will focus solely on water-based clay, however other materials are available for use. You can sign up for one or three clay camps. Having two clay camps gives more time for practice and experimenting. Or a larger creation! Please, bring a snack, lunch, and a water bottle. $205 (tax and material fees included)

7) 20 -24 July Collage: Focus on Vic Muniz and Eric Carle. Create collages using various papers, painted papers, small junk, and whatever works! Garner inspiration from the collages of beloved illustrator and author Eric Carle and renowned artist Vik Nunez. Vik Nunez recreates world class paintings using magazine pieces and little junk. Bring a snack and a water bottle. $175 ( tax included)

8) 27 -31 July, PAINT 9 a.m. -12 p.m. (ages 4 - 12) PAINT: Explore multiple ways of painting with watercolors, acrylic, tempera, mixed media. Try your hand at pour painting, spin painting, paper marbling, and stenciling. $200 (tax and material fees included.)

9) This camp is FULL. 3 – 7 August, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. (ages 5 - 12) PUPPETS!!: Come create puppets at Prairie School of Art! Create plaster head and puppets with a performance for those who want to participate on the last day. Write your own script. Create scenery!! Practice and play with the variety of puppets on hand at Prairie School of Art! Be HAPPY! Please, bring a snack, lunch, and a water bottle. $250 (tax and materials fee include

It's that time of the year! Share and swap your houseplants with others on Saturday, March 28 with drop-offs starting at 10 a.m. and swap starting at 10:30 a.m. Each person can bring up to five labeled healthy houseplants or rooted cuttings (no fresh cuttings) to swap. https://ow.ly/gW4N50YgGUw
