Baishali Bhaumik received a 2026 Stanley Award for International Research to support her summer research in India.

Baishali is a PhD student in Anthropology advised by Dr. Meena Khandelwal. Her research explores gendered labor, environmental precarity, feminist political economy, and human–animal relationships in the Sundarbans, with attention to reproductive health, informal labor, s*x work, and ecological governance.

Corinne Watts was the recipient of a UI Graduate College Summer Fellowship for 2026 in support of his dissertation research.

Corinne is a sixth-year archaeology graduate student under the advisement of Dr. Katina Lillios. She explores questions of origin and authenticity in recently created megalithic sites, specifically through the Indonesian standing stones at Harvest Preserve in Iowa City.
