From Iowa to Czechia ✈️

In a reverse pilgrimage of Dvořák’s visit to Iowa over one hundred years ago, Professor Elizabeth Oakes, Assistant Professor Julia Conrad, the Seamark Quartet (Renee Santos, Alicia Maiz Alonso, Oliver Bostian, Katie Forbush) and Conifer Quartet (Yestyn Griffith, Hugo Kaut, Kylie Little, Celia Phillips) are preparing to travel to Czechia!

Collaborating with the Lobkowicz Collection in Prague to pursue more culturally and historically informed interpretations of selected repertoire, our students and faculty will have the chance to view relevant original musical scores/manuscripts, visit key historical sites, and the Seamark and Conifer Quartets will also rehearse and perform the compositions that are the focus of this research.

You can help support this experience by donating at https://bit.ly/4wtFjQ6. Supporting this campaign means that you are not only helping get this group to Czechia; you will also be helping to support similar opportunities for future students. A huge thank you to the many supporters who have already donated! 💛 🖤
