What an amazing Concert Band concert last night!!! The section sounded fantastic, and guest soloist David Kissinger was glorious on Schumann’s Adagio and Allegro!

Charlie and the Moonlight Quintet are spreading the love of music and the joy of the season by spending the afternoon caroling!

Dr. Ambrose and Cameron are excited to hear Jacob play Beethoven Eroica with the Des Moines Symphony!!!

This has been a busy week for the horn studio! Masterclass with Jaclyn Rainey on Sunday, Concert Band on Monday, Jazz Combos on Tuesday, Neile’s Masters recital yesterday as well as Symphony Band’s shared concert with the Iowa Brass Band!

Individual posts to come, but as we wrap up 13 weeks without a break it’s a treat to look back and see the fruits of our labors!

Brava to Neile Breiten, on her Masters recital this evening! Congratulations, Neile!

Bravo to senior Jonathon Hughes, and to studio TA Jacob White, for advancing to the final round of the U-Iowa Concerto Competition! They will perform on November 9 for a panel of external judges. Jonathon is performing the first movement of Kurt Atterberg’s Concerto for Horn and Jacob is performing James Naigus’s Radiant Dances. Wish them luck!

Bravo to the Symphony Band and Concert Band horns for their first concert of the year, last night!
