About - International Jazz Day 04/30/2026

I was just informed by my older daughter, Erika Birnbaum that April 30 is "International Jazz Day". I have to confess that I was totally unaware that there was such a day. I wish I would have known about this earlier and that the gathering was in Chicago this year--I probably would have made an effort to attend 🙃.

Something Anthony has in common with the elite Choir of King's College, Cambridge is being able to sing for the choral music-loving Estonians. Back in 1990 Anthony was part of Kantorei at the University of Iowa which toured the then USSR. He remembers fondly how deep the Estonians love for singing goes.

Tomorrow as part of Anthony’s family’s love of choral music they will be continuing their long standing tradition of listening to the King’s Choir Christmas Eve service, Nine Lessons and Carols. Join him and others around the world at 3PM GMT, or 9AM central.

Topping off the organ crawl was a fun surprise, a little Wurlitzer. Check out his fellow organists tinkering with it.

Next in Anthony’s Thanksgiving Highlights is his organ crawl in Escanaba. He always enjoys seeing, hearing, and playing new & interesting instruments.

On the agenda was a nice little organ down the street from the main attraction, in the Catholic Church the concert was in. One spot with three organs. Check out Anthony exploring the main one 41 ranks and linked with the front 20 rank organ in the front.

He also got to see close up the little instrument used in the Esky Baroque Concert.
