Iola Sr High School-Class of 1981 Planning 40th year reunion... Lets get er done!

Saturday…noon at Riverside with games (corn hole, horseshoes, volleyball) and conversation. Hamburg’s/hotdogs and chips provided.

Later attend dinner at 6:30 at Elks Club (taco bar, tea, water, dessert, cash bar) and music from our very own Shawn Williams! Bring on those “We are family” tunes brother! Can’t wait to see everyone. Can you believe it! 40 years!!!

Class of 1981…40th reunion is fast approaching! Let’s begin with the parade at 2:30 on the square. Tailgate at 6:00 in the park and move on to the football game by 7:00 where seats will be made available for our class. Bonfire at Elks Lake following the game until 11:00. . Former football players, read the previous post from McIntosh where and when to meet to be honored! GO MUSTANGS!

Class of ‘81. Our 40th year is coming up. There is a Messenger group that Wilma Smith Stone set up where many of us are chatting about the reunion. Either get in touch with her, me, or put your name here to be added to the group. Currently we are thinking this fall as it would give people a chance to plan since many of us are out of town, even out of State.

I still do not have a listing for the class of 1981. I have been knee deep in Gr***de pins and kind of dropped synch ;) We need a good roster and whomever has it, please send to [email protected] and I will try to gather the masses (i.e., survey, post the top locations, Date (year as well) and start a committee to get the job done! Please all whom monitor, help!

Are we planning 37 year reunion? Or... Are we shooting for 40? Either way classmates, we owe it to ourselves to reunite so in the back of our minds we have accomplished due diligence in keeping in touch. Some of us have or have had serious illness, here today, gone tomorrow... and I say, “lets get this party started right”! Let start the conversation and let the beating begin ;o) JK! I meant planning! I propose for a 1950’s Grease Style Sock Hop where we start our reception in a 1950’s Dress/Poodle Skirts and transition into 60’s/70’s thru 80’s and thru2018? Where: (Kansas City; Branson, MO; Dallas, TX)? When: Spring 2019? Cost: (Any monies left over)?
Planning Committee: I will volunteer as a Planner/Event Coord? I will need help with listings of Classmates? What about cost per person?
How far are we willing to travel... we can establish listing and then ping everyone with a survey and input... Together we will make all the difference!
