We had a great end to our week of camp with a virtual concert performed by The United States Air Force Band Clarinet Quartet (thanks to Blake Arrington for organizing the appearance). On the last day Katie Repka did a class in instrument repair, Kathy Mulcahy gave a masterclass, and we performed in the closing concert. We’re already looking forward to next year with more in person and hands on activities!

Today we worked on our clarinet choir music, did yoga, and learned about bass clarinet from Ashley Booher. Another full day of learning about music and the clarinet!

Scenes from Clarinet Camp, Day 2. Thanks to Erie Liang for teaching the kids about double tonguing. We also enjoyed The United States Army Field Band Brass Quintet during our large group session, and ended the day with a virtual clinic given by Brian Corbin of B. Corbin Clarinet Products all the way from Honolulu!!

We’re excited to welcome Brian Corbin of B. Corbin Clarinet Products to our roster of guest artists. Brian is based in Honolulu and will give us a virtual tour of his shop. Brian has graciously donated a handmade barrel that will be raffled off at the end of his session!

The Summer Clarinet Academy is less than 3 weeks away and we still have a few spots left! We’re excited to welcome Ashley Booher as one of our guest artists! Ashley is a member of the Kennedy Center Opera House orchestra and specializes in bass clarinet. She will offer a bass clarinet masterclass and will talk about her job playing for operas, ballets and musicals at the The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
