We are excited to announce our 2025 Week with the Masters faculty and former IDC alumna Dr. Lily McCrossin, PT, DPT.
Dr. McCrossin is a dance medicine physical therapist and contemporary dance artist in
Miami, Florida. Originally from Sharpsburg, Maryland, growing up Lily trained at the Inwood
Performing Arts Company in West Virginia. During summer months she trained on scholarship
at the Joffrey Ballet School, Ballet Austin, and Orlando Ballet School. She graduated with a
Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Modern Dance from the University of South Florida in 2018, and
earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Miami in 2023.
Prior to becoming a physical therapist, Lily was a founding dancer of the Tampa City Ballet,
where she danced professionally and was on the faculty of the Tampa City Ballet School. Lily
will be joining Miami City Ballet’s artistic team as the company’s Lead Physical Therapist
beginning the 2025/26 season. Previously, she practiced full-time at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital
as the lead dance medicine specialist, where she evaluated and treated adolescent dancers,
provided dance injury prevention lectures to the Miami dance community, and trained other
clinicians in dance medicine.
Lily is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Florida Physical Therapy
Association, the Performing Arts Medicine Association, and the International Association of
Dance Medicine and Science. She is passionate about promoting dance career longevity,
creating access to dance medicine education resources, advocating for healthy training
environments, and providing individualized attention to dancers rehabilitating from an injury
