Pilotage vs. Dead Reckoning: Mastering Real Navigation! ✈️🗺️

Last week at our aviation club meeting, our students stepped away from the screens and dove into classic pilot navigation.

They rolled out an aeronautical sectional chart to master the fundamentals of pilotage (navigating by visual landmarks) versus dead reckoning (calculating heading, time, and distance).
Using a plotter and an E6B flight computer, each student successfully planned a full 50 NM cross-country flight leg—just like real-world aviators!

Building these solid ground school skills is the foundation of every great pilot.

Future Citrus County Aviators!

We have some exciting upcoming events in the club!
