Exciting news! Grace Christian School has joined the ChildLight Association of Schools. This is an organization of schools that support one another by collaborating on ways to promote and practice the educational philosophy of Charlotte Mason in our schools. Today and tomorrow, our administrator, Becca Wylupek, is spending time in Chattanooga at Silverdale Baptist Academy (a school of over 1000 students) to attend the ChildLight conference. What a blessing to see the many ways CM methods are utilized in such a large and successful school. So many ideas to bring home to our GCS faculty!

🎉 **Spirit Week is coming! 🎉

Our Student Government and Parent Collective have some exciting plans for our **first-ever Spirit Week**, and we’re ready to celebrate!

From daily theme days and friendly competitions to coin wars and our big **Spirit Week Family Night on Friday**, it’s going to be a fun-filled week of school spirit, laughter, and getting to know one another better!

Come out Friday night and join the fun!

* Build-your-own nacho bar!**
* Fun games and activities for everyone!**
* Lots of school spirit and family fun!**

The nacho bar is just $5 per person—but here’s the best part: you don’t need to buy a food ticket to come and enjoy the Family Night! Come cheer on the teams, play some games, visit with other families, and enjoy the evening with us!

🌮 Nacho bar tickets go on sale next week and are already available through PayPal. You may also send cash or check with your student.

**Important:** Food tickets will **NOT** be sold after Monday, October 19, and there will be no food tickets sold at Family Night, so don’t wait!

3rd grade!

Our 4th grade learned that sharks can smell blood in water at a ratio of up to 1:10,000,000,000! Then, they tested their own sense of smell with varying concentrations of tomato juice in water. Nowhere near as impressive as a shark! 😁

Throughout the year GCS students memorize a timeline song from Creation to Modern America. The song has 160 events and takes 20 weeks to memorize! But it remains a fan favorite! In this video -- "Solomon's reign, Israel divides into 2 kingdoms, Homer and Greek mythology, the Olympics, Founding of Rome, Greece colonized, democracy begins, Israel and Judah fall."

Our GCS 6th-7th graders also spent the day off campus today at the Florida Aquarium in Tampa and got an up-close look at marine life—including a squid dissection! 😳

Science is always more fun when you can see it, touch it, and (sometimes!) dissect it!
