- Some after-school programs and athletic activities have changed. Check messages from your child’s school for details.

• 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡.
- An additional 2–4 inches of rain could bring flash, urban and isolated river flooding.
- Potential storm surge is 1–3 feet, with peak conditions expected Friday.

We remain in constant communication with Emergency Management.

Citrus County has been included in the State of Florida’s emergency declaration related to Hurricane . However, Citrus County is 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆 at this time.

Being included in the state declaration allows the county to access applicable state resources and support while continuing to monitor conditions locally. Emergency Management will continue to closely monitor the situation and will provide updates if conditions change or additional actions become necessary.

Residents should continue to monitor official county and US National Weather Service Tampa Bay information and take appropriate precautions based on the latest forecasts and conditions.

Due to the high chances of severe weather this afternoon and evening, and after consulting with the City of Inverness, we have made the difficult decision to cancel National Night Out 2026.

With forecasts calling for a 100% chance of heavy rain and possible thunderstorms throughout the day, keeping our community, vendors, and staff safe remains our top priority.

We appreciate everyone who planned to participate and all of you who were excited to spend the evening with us. 𝗨𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆, 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿.
