It's not just about becoming a better speaker and developing leadership skills at Toastmasters. It's also about relationships and being part of a family.

We, at the Voice of Leadership Toastmasters Club, were reminded of that this week when we found out one of our members and Club officers, Christine Marks, passed away while visiting her new granddaughter. News like this always takes us by surprise but it also reminds us how lucky we are to meet people that we connect with and support as we try to help each other develop our skills.

Through that process, we hear each other's stories, experience what they are passionate about, and build bonds. As we heard this sad news, members reminisced about the specialness that Christine brought to our group - her always-positive attitude, her passion for teaching and helping others, and an ongoing mix of kindness and humor.

Thank you Christine for your influence and impact on our lives.

Toastmasters was created to help get more comfortable with public speaking. It's still about that but public speaking has changed. During the pandemic, Voice of Leadership Toastmasters went virtual - another method of communication it's important to develop skill in. Now, we have moved to a hybrid environment, blending in-person and virtual meeting. We are all learning ways to become better in the 'new world'. This is a great time to check out the Voice of Leadership Toastmaster Club.

It was fun having a few guests at our January meeting this weekend! Thanks to all who came and learned together as we heard members share about: intermittent fasting, understanding different styles of communication, and managing paperwork before+after a car accident. We also enjoyed some inspirational words from our Toastmaster Of The Day about 2020 Vision ...and it wasn't about how our eyes are working!
Looking forward to seeing everyone at our next meeting on Saturday Feb 8 at 9:30a!

Zip, Zap, Zop! That's how fast it went while having fun with team building and leadership development improv! We had a meeting filled with laughter and inspiration... and dare I say TRANSFORMATION from our keynote speaker. Looking forward to celebrating the end of the year and plan our goals for 2020 in our next meeting December 14th!
