Believe in Books Literacy Foundation A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization working to strengthen communities across Northern New England through literacy programs and educational opportunities.

The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation has a broadening mission to enhance the quality of life through exposure, education, and the engagement of reading and bringing stories to life. The Literacy Foundation is a Charitable 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, and supported by hundreds of dedicated volunteers from the communities we serve. The net proceeds o

f our events and merchandise sales are designed to go towards our Literacy Foundation and programs. As a result of nineteen years of fundraising efforts, the Literacy Foundation has given over 1.3 million dollars through literacy programs, scholarships, grants and book distributions in Northern New Hampshire and Western Maine. We visit over 50 preschools reaching over 1,200 households and have given out over 50,000 books in the past ten years.

We are deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.

We are so grateful for the incredible legacy she leaves behind, especially her lifelong commitment to children and literacy. Through her Imagination Library, Dolly helped put books into the hands of millions of children, inspiring a love of reading and showing the world just how important early literacy truly is.

Her mission has always been close to our hearts at Believe in Books. Like Dolly, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to discover the joy, imagination, and possibilities that come from a good book.

Thank you, Dolly, for giving so many children the gift of reading and for inspiring organizations like ours to keep that mission going. ❤️📚

Your story will continue in every child who opens a book.

Her Imagination Library gifted over 300 million books to children around the world, spreading her love for reading far and wide.
