Bronco Volleyball est 1972

We had an amazing week preparing for play-offs. Unfortunately fell short after a hard fought battle with Two Harbors in 5 sets. This season’s schedule was a grind, but without question, one for the memory books. Thank you to our coaches that go above and beyond for our athletes and program. Thank you parents for your continued support (you rocked the posters ❤️) and love for our athletes. Thank u to our “super hero” fans that made the trip and for cheering this season! To the team…from the beginning we said no regrets. You left it on the court tonight and I couldn’t be more BRONCO PROUD! Thank you! 💜💛

Senior Spotlight: Cheznee Skrien

🏐Years playing volleyball? 10 years 🏐

Most memorable volleyball moment: Practicing with varsity as an 8th grader and having to return a kill from Gracie Swenson—I started crying right after! 😅

Pregame rituals: I always drink a different color Bubblr before every game.

Pregame meal: I don’t eat anything until after the game.

Dream vacation: Paris, France

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a pharmacist!

Next steps: My goal is to go to college to play softball and major in Biology, with hopes of becoming a pharmacist.

Most inspired by: Coach Dowty and Coach Hall — two amazing coaches who’ve always had faith in me, pushed me to do better, and believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself.

Message to your future self: Stay true to yourself, and don’t change for anybody else.

How many years have you played volleyball?
11 years

Most memorable volleyball moment to date?
The whole city’s trip last year — and trying to get the waitress at Applebee’s to sing Happy Birthday to Erin just to get free dessert (it wasn’t her birthday 😂).

Pregame rituals?
Playing music in the locker room with the girls and walking out with my best friend.

Pregame meal?
Some sort of energy drink and fruit… or Subway with Chuck.

Favorite pump-up song?
“Gangnam Style” with the team + “Over” by Drake

Favorite movie?
Just Go With It

What do you want to be when you grow up?
A dentist!

Next steps / Next year:
I’ll graduate with my AA from Rainy River along with my high school diploma. After that, I plan to attend college, major in biology, and continue on to a dentistry program to become a dentist.

Amalfi Coast, Italy

What being a Bronco means to you:
Being a Bronco has meant so much to me. I’ve grown so much over the years, and this program has helped shape me into who I am today. It’s taught me the value of teamwork, maintaining a positive mindset, and pushing myself even on the hardest days. Showing up only makes you stronger. If you don’t have the right mindset, you’ll never succeed—and while that’s hard to learn, it’s so true. Even though this may seem like a small chapter of my life, it’s made the biggest impact. Thank you.
