One of our very iconic Converse alum, Betty Oare! ✨

Remember this?

Betty Oare (then Reynolds) was just 21 in 1962 when she traded hunters for jumpers for a day, climbing aboard Ernie Oare’s Thoroughbred Count Cadence in the green jumper division in the Dixon Oval in Devon, Pennsylvania. After a fault-free first round, she found herself in a jump-off against U.S. Equestrian Team stalwart Frank Chapot—and she took the blue ribbon.
