“Miss Rhonda… are you sweating?!” 😂
One of our students asked this about 10 minutes into our adventure, and honestly… YES. Yes, Miss Rhonda was sweating. 🤣 Apparently exploring the back woods of a student’s homestead is a little more work than it sounds!
We went on our first field trip of the year and had the BEST time exploring the back woods at one of our students’ homesteads, Hidden Ground Homestead.
We found all kinds of cool things along the way—different kinds of fungi (the red one with the white dots was definitely our favorite 🍄), a cocoon, snake skin, a tiny salamander, a deer track, and several plants that we were able to identify!
We may have also had a couple of kids fall in the creek. 👀🤣 But honestly… is it even a real nature field trip if nobody gets a little muddy?
We ended our adventure with a fun treat of Muddy Buddies, which may or may not have been the real reason everyone was willing to hike through the woods. 😂
Such a fun first field trip for our little school! We explored, learned, got dirty, laughed a LOT, and made some pretty great memories. 🤎🌿
