Wilder’s Preparatory Academy Charter Schools has named Leslie Shaw-McGee its new Dean of Schools, effective July 1, 2024.

Ms Shaw-McGee is an accomplished educator with 20 years of experience, the last 17 of which have been serving charter schools. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Spelman College and her Master’s degree at Troy State University. Ms. Shaw-McGee completed her teaching license and administrative credential coursework at Seton Hall University and California State University Dominguez Hills, respectively.

Ms. Shaw-McGee brings her stellar administrative and leadership skills to Wilder’s innovative school community. Her inspiration is driven by a deep-seated belief that improving the quality of education among those who are traditionally underserved in schools is paramount.

Ms. Shaw-McGee’s career comes full-circle since she taught at Wilder’s Prep from 2007-2009! She then taught at CLAS Charter School before spending the past 14 years with ICEF Public Schools as a teacher, instructional specialist, assistant principal, and principal.

Wilder’s Preparatory Academy Charter Schools has named Sean Nealy its new Director of Schools, effective March 11, 2024.

Mr. Nealy is a dedicated educator with over 20 years of experience. He was raised in Los Angeles and grew up in the View Park area. Upon graduating from Loyola High School, Mr. Nealy attended Morehouse College where he graduated with a degree in Psychology.

Inspired by his transformative educational experiences, he embarked on a mission to empower students and foster positive learning environments. He continued to serve his community as a teacher for a local middle school before being recruited to become an assistant principal for a local charter school organization. With a strong desire to make a greater impact on his community, Mr. Nealy took on the role of principal at two middle schools, one in Los Angeles, and the other in Las Vegas. He spearheaded initiatives to increase academic achievement and holistic student development.

Under his leadership, one school was recognized as a California Distinguished School, a testament to his commitment to educational excellence and innovation for the benefit of his students.

With over two decades of experience, Mr. Nealy has a proven track record of leadership excellence and strong results.
