Congratulations to our newest GED recipient, Thomas Williams. Thomas, a stay-at-home dad, was an excellent student. Always kind, with a smile on his face. He showed up for classes, knew when he needed more study time, and was determined to put this chapter behind him. His next step is college. We can see Thomas have a fulfilling future and we wish him all the luck in the world.

June 4, 2026 Martin County Adult Education held their annual GED graduation ceremony. Many thanks to the students who were able to return and celebrate earning their GED this year. Special thanks to all of our sponsors: Kentucky Farm Bureau, Martin County Public Library, OVP Health, and CEOC Trio. We also appreciate Sew and Sew Quilters for helping to make the day special. Our guest speaker was Judge John Chaffin, who delivered encouraging words for our graduates.

Congratulations to our 2nd GED recipient this year, Curtis Ward.

Curtis was one of the sweetest kids. He has overcome so many obstacles to get to this point and it is something to be proud of. He wanted his GED so he could have a better future for himself.

Curtis had some of the highest GED scores that we have seen. He received "College Ready" scores of 2 subject areas and "College Ready+Credit" in another subject area.

Congratulations, again, Curtis. This sky is the limit.

Congratulations to Julia for officially earning her GED. She absolutely flew through the program and is our first graduate of our new year.

Julia has the sweetest, most caring personality, and this is just the start of an amazing journey for her. Her future plans include attending school to become a Radiology Technician - and we have absolutely no doubt she’s going to crush it.

Congratulations, Randall Bowen on completing your GED!

Randall officially finished on June 16, and it has been such a pleasure working with him. He brought so much positivity to the classroom—always pleasant, considerate, and respectful to everyone around him.

What really stood out was his incredible commitment. Randall was always the first to ask for extra help or materials, making the most of every study tool he was given. He built some amazing study habits that are going to serve him so well in whatever he decides to tackle next.

Congratulations, Randall! Eleanor Roosevelt once said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." We are so incredibly proud of you for taking this huge step toward yours, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for you!

Great news, David Smith! You’ve earned your GED!

On June 2nd, David achieved his GED with us. He was incredibly dedicated to reaching this goal, consistently attending class and dedicating time to studying. His hard work and perseverance helped him complete his goal. No matter the challenges, David never gave up, pushing forward until he reached his goal.

Chris has been such a wonderful part of our program. No matter what, he is always upbeat and brought the best energy with him every single day. His dedication to his studies has truly paid off, but what makes Chris extra special is how he constantly encouraged others and created a positive atmosphere for everyone around him.

On top of all his hard work, he is always very respectful and a true joy to have in class.

There is nothing quite like seeing hard work pay off. Adam is such a determined young man, and his motivation to reach his goals and secure a job has been amazing to watch.

He started his journey at home on his own, proving that when you have the drive, you can accomplish anything. He set his own pace, worked on his own timeline, and finished by his own deadline!

It’s not how you start; it’s how you finish, and Jeremy is the perfect proof of that!

Over his 16-month journey, things weren't always easy. Balancing a tough work schedule meant a rocky start, and he didn't take the program seriously at first. But then, a little motivation goes a long way!

Once Jeremy made up his mind, he buckled down, kept all of his appointments, and finished incredibly strong!
