💙Thank You, Thunderbird Families! 💙

A huge THANK YOU to all of our families who came out to Indiantown Middle School for our Title I Presentation & Curriculum Night! We are so grateful for your time, your support, and your partnership as we work together to make this a successful school year for our students. 📚❤️

One of the highlights of the evening was getting to meet some of our future Thunderbirds! 💙 We especially loved meeting this beautiful family: mom, an elementary-aged future Thunderbird, and even a one-year-old who will be a Thunderbird one day, too! 😊

Moments like this remind me that the work we do at IMS is about more than just the students in our classrooms today. We are building relationships with families and creating a school community that future generations will be proud to call home.

And one of our other favorite moments of the evening was captured in a picture with three generations of Thunderbirds! 😊 One of our IMS teachers was pictured with a former student of hers—who now has her own daughter in that teacher’s classroom! Talk about the lasting impact of a great teacher and the incredible relationships that are built in a school community. ❤️

These moments are what make Indiantown Middle School more than just a school—it’s a family and a community.

🎉 Growing Our Familia & Celebrating Our Own! 👶🍼

There is nothing quite like the warmth of our school family, and today our Thunderbird hearts (and bellies!) are extra full.

This morning, our faculty and staff gathered for a special breakfast potluck to shower three of our amazing team members, Coach Medina, Ms. Watts, and Ms. Vasquez, who are preparing to welcome new little ones into the world!

Our Thunderbird family brought their absolute best to celebrate our parents-to-be with an incredible spread:

Savory Breakfast Favorites: Warm chilaquiles, fresh handmade tortillas, huevos con chorizo, nopales, refried beans, savory sausage, classic breakfast casserole, and freshly baked quiche.

Sweet Treats: Sweet conchas, rich flan, and a delicious coconut cake.

Morning Essentials: Chilled juices and plenty of fresh-brewed café.

It’s moments like these that remind us of what makes our Thunderbird Nest so special!

To our three expectant team members: we wish you and your growing families much health, peace, sweet rest, and endless happiness as you embark on this beautiful new journey of parenthood.

🧮 Learning in Action at IMS! ✏️

Yesterday, we stopped by Mr. Mesorana’s Algebra 1 class, where students were up at the vertical whiteboards tackling a new challenge!

Students had already learned how to solve multi-step equations, but this lesson took their thinking to the next level. For the first time, they had to take a word problem, create the equation themselves, AND solve an equation with variables on both sides. 💡

Working at the boards gave students the opportunity to collaborate, explain their thinking, work through productive struggle, and apply what they’ve learned in a brand-new way.

This is what learning looks like—thinking, collaborating, problem-solving, and growing! ❤️🖤

Yesterday, we caught Mr. Nottage’s 8th grade Band students putting in the work as they prepare for the upcoming SFHS parade! 🎺🥁

Students were practicing their marching skills while playing “All Star” by Smash Mouth—and they’re already looking and sounding parade-ready! ⭐

We love seeing our Thunderbirds build their skills, work together, and represent IMS beyond the walls of the classroom. Keep up the great work, Thunderbird Band! 🎶❤️🖤
