It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved classmate, Ja’Micheal (Jmike) Winfrey, Gentry High School Class of 2023. Ja’Micheal’s light touched many of us—through his laughter, kindness, and unforgettable presence.

As we grieve, let us also uplift each other and the family in love and remembrance.

Congratulations to A’Davion D. Bush and Tyren M. Boyd Jr. for being initiated into the Nu Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at the University of Mississippi.

They are the first members of the Gentry High School class of 2023 to be initiated into Greek life.

📣 Our “How’s Everything?” Series 📣

Tra Millbrooks, a former star athlete, is at Holmes Community College and pursuing a trade in HVAC. He’s just had a great basketball season where he and his team made it to the final four in the NJCAA Regions Tournament.

Tra plans to finish his journey at Holmes with academic satisfaction, then embark on his D1 track.

Checking in on Jaylon Campbell, former star athlete, he’s doing well academically and on the field. Jaylon is a wide receiver at Bethel University and pursuing studies in Sports Science.

Jaylon plans to continue excelling in football. Continuing, he plans to finish the semester with academic satisfaction and growth in all areas of his life.

📣 Our “How’s Everything?” Series 📣

Checking in on, Eugene Pearson, Jr., he’s doing everything expected of him at Mississippi Delta Community College. While pursuing studies in Secondary Education, he serves as the school’s Student Government Association President and an active recruiting liaison.

In his role as a recruiting liaison, he travels to various high schools talking and bridging the gap between K-12 education and college/higher education.

This past semester, he’s excelled as a student academically while continuing his work as a youth pastor at his home church. He plans to do the same this semester.

Awesome job, Eugene!❤️

Lamarion Glover, former star athlete, is still playing with Beloit College as a Defensive Back. While in his studies and pursuits as an athlete, he’s gained a tremendous amount of responsibility juggling his academic, athlete, and organization commitments.

Lamarion plans to continue seeking room for personal and professional development.

We’re glad to see Lamarion excelling!❤️
