Local 440 offers a five year apprenticeship program consisting of on-the-job and classroom training. Each apprentice spends a minimum of 1700 hours on-the-job under the supervision of a journeyman and 246 hours per year in related training classes. All apprentices are enrolled in an Associates Degree Program through Ivy Tech Community College and will receive an Associates Degree of Applied Science Technology upon completion of the program.
