Among all students who entered the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Program, only about 16,000 were named Semifinalists. They were designated on a state representational basis, in proportion to each state’s percentage of the national total of graduating high school seniors. In order to advance in the competition and be considered for a Merit Scholarship award, a Semifinalist had to become a Finalist by fulfilling several requirements that included submitting a detailed scholarship application and presenting a record of very high academic performance. All winners of about 6,930 National Merit Scholarships are being chosen from the group of more than 15,000 distinguished Finalists.
Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School is proud to share that 3 of our Finalists have been awarded the National Merit Scholarship by demonstrating through distinguished performance high potential for future academic accomplishment.
Congratulations to:

Seniors Addie Moeller and Johnny King presented their impressive AP Research projects to the Board of Trustees on Monday, under the guidance of teachers Erin Miller and Dr. Katy Califf.
These projects are the culmination of the rigorous AP Capstone program where students develop critical thinking, academic research, evidence-based writing, and presentation skills. The AP Capstone program is a hallmark of the Ignatian Scholars program that students can participate in starting as sophomores.
What an awesome way to wrap up their senior year! Way to go, Braves!
