Welcome Week- Hounds in Service! 👌🏼

As part of Welcome Week, UIndy students came together for a service project to make durable sleeping mats for our neighbors experiencing homelessness using recycled plastic grocery bags.

This project was about more than making mats - it was an opportunity for students to connect, serve, and engage with the needs of our Indianapolis community. Through hands-on service, students experienced how small acts of compassion can create meaningful connections and contribute to a stronger community.

A huge thank you to everyone across UIndy’s campus who donated supplies and supported our project!👏🏻

Yesterday’s Community Engagement took us beyond the classroom for Achieving College Excellence Day - where we made blankets, crafted pillows, and prepped snack packs for individuals experiencing homelessness.

This wouldn’t have been possible without the passion of our UIndy faculty, students and the collaboration of our community partners, Horizon House and Book Pillows, who made this day so engaging and impactful. 👏🏻👏🏻

Volunteer with Sages & Seekers!

Looking for a meaningful way to engage with your community while learning from another generation?

Sages & Seekers brings college students and older adults together for guided conversations that explore identity, life experiences, values, challenges, and hopes for the future.

Through this community engagement experience, students have the opportunity to build authentic relationships, strengthen empathy, and learn from the perspectives of older adults - all while helping reduce social isolation and challenge ageism.

It’s more than volunteering - it’s learning, connection, and community engagement in action.

Compus Compact has visited our R.B Annis School of Engineering at the University of Indianapolis.
We are excited to share some of our projects, including our intelligent machine designed to support gardening. 🥰

This visit highlighted how our engineering projects are connected to Service-Learning , giving students the opportunity to apply their skills to real-world challenges. Especially, create meaningful solutions that serve our community.
