Formal CELEBRATION: The UIndy Speech and Debate Team traveled to the home of oratory in Athens, Greece- and SHOWED OUT! Senior, Jordan Weddle, beat 90 people in 20 hours of competition to be the INTERNATIONAL CHAMPION IN IMPROMPTU SPEAKING!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our third (and final) “Winter Wins” series wrapped up this past weekend at Eastern Michigan University. After a long day, going head to head against some of the best speakers in the nation, TWO of our Greyhounds came out with some hardware! Huge congrats to Jordan Weddle and Tofunmi Oyeleke!

In our second tournament of the “Winter Wins” series, we travel back to Butler University for their standalone tournament in January!

Once again, our team had incredible results at the first tournament of 2026 (yes, it was our New Year’s Resolution to get more wins). We love our friends over at for their hospitality and their knack for putting on some of our favorite tourneys!

We have competed in THREE tournaments this Winter, so introducing the “Winter Wins” series of social posts heading into the State Championship in a couple weeks!

Starting out, let’s travel back in time to December where members of our team competed in Day 2 of our swing tournament at Butler University! Turns out our students were on the “nice list”, had an amazing tournament, and took home some extra “gifts” during the Christmas season!

The Hounds traveled to good ‘ol Huntington, West Virginia for a weekend in November and took home some new shiny hardware! Great showing from our team, but even better hospitality from our friends at Marshall University! This is becoming one of our team’s “can’t-miss” tourneys! Congratulations are in order!
