A few missed days here and there may not seem like much, but over time, absences add up! Every day in school is an opportunity for students to learn, connect with teachers and classmates, and build on what they learned the day before. Consistent attendance helps students stay engaged and stay on track for success.

Last Thursday, we had our annual Gator Night at Eastwood! Students and families had the opportunity to attend one of four different sporting events while also getting a chance to experience the Eastwood campus. Gator Night is a great tradition that helps build the connection between elementary and middle school for our future Eagles. Go Eagles! 🐊

Recently, our second graders celebrated the completion of their fairy tale and tall tale unit! Students and teachers dressed up as characters and participated in a variety of rotation activities to bring their learning to life and celebrate all they had learned throughout the unit. 🐊

On Friday, we held our first Gator Gathering of the school year and welcomed three special guests from North Central: Principal Mr. Rent, Varsity Football Coach Coffer, and Coach Smith! Students showed their Gator Pack pride by dressing in their Pack colors, learned more about what their Packs represent, and heard from our guests about what they can look forward to when they become North Central Panthers. It was a great way to celebrate the connection between AV and North Central! 🐊

Gator Night at Eastwood is this Thursday! Come out and support the Gators at one of the many athletic events happening throughout the evening. Gator Night is a great opportunity for our students and families to connect with Eastwood and begin building that bridge from elementary to middle school. 🐊

Chompy’s Challenge kicked off last Friday! We celebrated with a DEAR (Drop Everything and READ), giving everyone a chance to stop what they were doing and enjoy a good book. We’re excited to see how many of our students conquer Chompy’s Challenge by reading 100 books this year! 🐊

We had a great turnout for Back to School Night last Thursday! Thank you to all of the families who joined us. We always appreciate the opportunity to connect with our families, visit classrooms, and share more about the great things happening at AV! 🐊

The Washington Township Schools Services Center is serving in partnership with the American Red Cross of Indiana, as a disaster relief shelter for our Washington Township Community. If you need assistance during this time, go to door #20 at 8401 Westfield Blvd.

We were excited to welcome new Panther Youth Athletic Coordinator Carrington Smith to AV today! Coach Smith, who oversees K–8 youth athletic programs across the district, toured Allisonville, visited classrooms, met students, and connected with teachers. We’re excited to have Coach Smith supporting our young Panthers! 🐊

Back to School Night is next Thursday! This is a great opportunity for families to visit their student’s classroom, connect with teachers, and learn more about what students will be learning and experiencing this school year. We look forward to seeing our Gator families! 🐊
