I’m so thankful for these students! Our Autumn Recital Fri 11/22 was full of lovely performances, and it was the first one ever for most of the first row. 😊🎹

My "littles" are so excited! It's their first recital this Friday, 11/22; most are 7 years old and under! Other fun facts about this recital: 1/3 of my students are performing for the first time on piano, and 2/3 of my students (all ages) are boys. It's a very different year here at Studio J Piano in 2024-2025, and we giggle a lot as we learn! I LOVE teaching young children piano!😀

My first Roncalli Choirs concert of 2024-2025 is tonight. Always one of my favorites—it’s an all-sacred concert this evening, and the stage will be filled with students very shortly! Can't wait!

It was a GOLD-en day at State ISSMA for Winds and Strings at North Central and Northview Middle School. Marathon schedule today—I was pleased to perform 13 accompaniments today between 8:30am-5:00 pm! Great times assisting high schoolers with their solos like Muczynski’s Time Pieces for Clarinet, Mozart Horn Concerto, Squire Tarantella for cello, and many other classical works for strings. Plus chatting with lots of wonderful musicians!

This was taken May 12, 2023--it's our group photo from the spring recital. Wow, have they changed in 6 months! We're having our Autumn Recital tomorrow night, November 17, and the snapshot of these students is priceless to me.

He said he can't believe it's been a year, either! Blaze has reached his first-ever Piano-versary, which is wonderful! He's been working hard mastering his landmarks and line and space notes on the staff. He's getting them down! Congratulations to Autumn, who has reached her 3-year Piano-versary! It's never too late to begin piano; she was in middle school when she began lessons. She's a HS sophomore now. Autumn and I have a lot of fun in our lessons! She likes playing her expressive ballads with pedal, and enjoys playing duets with me, too. Congratulations to Daniel, who reached his THIRD Studio J Piano-versary last August! He is in the 5th grade now, and was asked to perform a solo for his school's Christmas program. Younger music students at his school did body percussion to his arrangement of "Here Comes Santa Claus", so he had to be rock-steady, and he did a great job! He's very excited to learn about piano and music theory and about most things in general. He's very quick, and asks lots of questions, and that suits me fine. In a "class of one", you don't have to wait to ask your question or to get the teacher's attention.
