Today is the first day of AYS, Inc. Summer Days camp! ☀️

Last week, all AYS summer staff attended two days of training designed to help them prepare for camp. They participated in training sessions, craft sessions, and even a chant class all designed to help them at the start of camp!

Summer Days are right around the corner, but first a look at the last week of classes!

Three schools, three party days, and endless fun as schools across Indiana came to a close. Central Elementary School, Greenbriar Elementary, and Blue and Gold Academy all hosted a party day to say goodbye to the school year and hello to summer.

Central had an ice cream and pizza celebration, Greenbriar hosted a carnival themed parent and student event, and Blue and Gold wrapped up the year with a day in the sun having fun.

Get to Know Your Summer Days Youth Development Leaders 05/26/2026

AYS, Inc. Summer Days Camps start next week, and our Youth Development Leaders (YDLs) are so excited that they decided to get a head start on introductions!

Our YDLs undergo comprehensive training, including First Aid, CPR, child development, conflict resolution, team building, and safety to prepare for a rewarding and enriching summer of camp programs.

🎓 This May, high school and college students are graduating across central Indiana. This rite of passage marks a transition into adulthood and an opportunity to serve as a source of inspiration for the generation that follows them.

Some graduates, like Mallory Lindsay, have already proven their leadership potential through their part-time job as a Youth Development Associate with AYS.

Mallory, a graduating senior at Shelbyville High School has been working for AYS’ William F. Loper Elementary program since October of her sophomore year.
