This week, VP of Advocacy Carrie Summers and Director of Advocacy Rachel Birenbaum had the honor of attending the ceremonial bill signing for HEA1116. We appreciate Representative Wendy McNamara for her leadership in authoring and championing the bill as well as Vote Scott Baldwin for State Senate for sponsoring the bill in the Senate. We appreciate the opportunity to work along side the Indiana AARP on this issue as well.

We are proud to have played a role in advancing the legislation. HEA1116 prohibits the use of virtual currency kiosks in Indiana. On behalf of our credit unions and their 2.8 million members, this represents a meaningful win in the fight against fraud.

We love visiting credit unions with legislators! VP Advocacy Carrie Summers was at FORUM Credit Union today with Rep. Jake Teshka, chairman of the Indiana House Financial Services Committee, and Kyle Pierce, Indiana State Representative, who is vice chairman. Both are strong CU supporters. We are grateful to all who helped us organize this day and make it a success.

We are thrilled to share Credit Union House's video spotlighting League CEO John McKenzie, who was recently inducted into their Hall of Leaders. John has had a long and fruitful career leading the League and lifting up Indiana credit unions to the benefit of 2.8 million Hoosier credit union members. We want to again extend our congratulations to him for this honor!

Our annual Indiana Credit Union Symposium brought CUs together to learn and enjoy. Special thanks go to Caroline Vahrenkamp of Filene Research Institute who made us all think, and of course, smile, while she covered the Top Ten Strategic CU Priorities and What Innovation Really Means; Edgar Hernandez of TruStage who shared facts and inspiration about small business lending to boost deposits; and James Gukeisen of Trellance, Inc. who taught us so many things about CU data and AI and gave us ideas on how to use and manage it. All of this was possible thanks to our sponsors: Alloya Corporate FCU, Corporate One Federal Credit Union, TruStage, Member First Mortgage - MFM, Credit Union Centers Shared Branching, and Servicecorp.
