It was great to host JHAT for a tour at The Grove at Cold Spring, a key project of the REID initiative, and a cradle through career hub for lifelong learning in the Near Northwest Area of Indy.

This year, two Near Northwest Area organizations - The Grove at Cold Spring and Aspire House - were service options for faculty and staff.

Near Northwest Area Schools Continue Dramatic Reading Gains, with schools improving IREAD passage rate by more than 9 percentage points to 73%. This year EVERY SCHOOL IMPROVED THEIR SCORES!

In 2023, just about half of third graders in Near Northwest Area schools were passing the IREAD, spurring Marian University, Near Northwest Area K-12 school leaders, the community, and trusted partners to come together to make a difference in literacy and educational attainment through the REID initiative.

Keep an eye out for more news about these tremendous gains.

The Haitian Grassroots Coalition of Midwest (HGCM) hosted their Summer Youth Symposium at Marian University Indianapolis this weekend to discuss mental health, college and careers, and youth advocacy.

The students who attended had such engaging and thoughtful discussions with panelists about their challenges, passions, and next steps. They asked about courage, learning from mistakes, and knowing the right next step to take.

RISE INDY gives caretakers hands-on tools to help readers at home. It was an honor to host their bi-lingual Freedom Readers workshops for a second year.

This year, Marian faculty and staff, Dr. NaamaLewis and Lacey Ladd hosted reading and math booths - sharing tips and takeaways with adults and kids.

What a celebration! This morning Herron-Riverside High School announced their new partnership with Vincennes University.

Herron Riverside is the first high school in the Near Northwest area of Indianapolis to partner with Vincennes, and their incoming class of 2030 will be among the FIRST students in Central Indiana to benefit from seven different career technical programs that Vincennes will offer at The Grove at Cold Spring - a key project of the Marian-led REID initiative!
