Avondale Meadows Academy (AMA) is a K-4 school that is part of United Schools of Indianapolis, a tuition-free, public charter school system that serves families in central Indianapolis. AMA’s mission is to provide a rigorous college-preparatory program, grounded in our belief in the ability of every child to succeed at high levels. We ensure every student reaches their full potential in a positive

and structured environment and equip them with the knowledge, wisdom, values, and behaviors to succeed in life. Through well-coordinated support, a strong partnership with families, and close attention to results, our students consistently meet and exceed academic standards, ensuring their success as future college graduates and lifelong learners. Avondale Meadows Academy (AMA) opened its doors in 2006 under the name Challenge Foundation Academy. In fact, the Challenge Foundation or Team CFA was a critical contributor to the school’s early success and we owe a great deal of gratitude to this national network of independent charter schools for their support in the school’s early years. In spring 2014, the school sought input from students and families, changing our name to Avondale Meadows Academy to reflect our ties to the local community.

🩺 A Reminder from Our School Nurses: Help Us Keep Everyone Healthy! ❤️

Parents, we know how difficult and frustrating it can be when you receive a call that your child is sick and needs to be picked up from school. We understand that these calls can interrupt work schedules, require last-minute arrangements, and sometimes make an already busy day even more complicated.

However, we are required to follow our district’s health and wellness policies and procedures to help protect the health and safety of all students and staff.

As a reminder, please keep your child home until they have been:

🌡️ Fever-free for 24 hours without fever-reducing medication
🤢 Vomit-free for 24 hours
❤️ Diarrhea-free for 24 hours

These same guidelines also help determine when a student may return to school after being sent home due to illness.

We promise, parents of healthy kiddos want them to stay that way if possible while yours get to feeling better.

We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work together to keep our school a safe and healthy place for students! 🍎📚
