During Friday's Family Meeting, we held a garden dedication ceremony in honor of Chrissy Cochard, Class of 2014. As her Fortune Family, we would like to recognize what a light Chrissy was, not only for Fortune, but for everyone who knew her. She was a strong advocate for conservation. She cared deeply about animals and their habitats. She traveled to Africa and spent time studying animals in the wild and received her Master's Degree at the time of her passing in Animal Biology Conservation and Education from Miami of Ohio. To honor her memory, we present the Chrissy Cocahard Monarch Garden.

Fortune is thankful to partner with Peace Learning Center to host each of our grade levels in doing activities focused on team building, conflict resolution, and connecting with nature. Our students were hands on and fully engaged while learning to become Peacemakers! We can not wait to visit again next year.

It’s officially School Picture Day at Fortune Academy, which means our students are rocking their absolute freshest fits, practicing their best "I totally didn't brush my hair in the car" smiles, and trying extra hard not to spill juice on their shirts before 10 AM.

Fortune Academy had an amazing (and a little wild) first week back. The rain and storms kept us on our toes, but when you work with a fantastic team, everything is easier! From poking holes in ceiling tiles to singing Happy Birthday, Fortune faculty and staff are always up for a challenge.

Today marks the official start of a brand-new academic year, and everyone at Fortune is thrilled to welcome our learners, faculty, staff, and families back to campus.

A strong community is the foundation of educational success. As we open our doors for another school year, we remain committed to fostering an inspiring, supportive, and engaging environment where every learner can thrive, grow, and reach their full potential.
