The last week of school was full of wonderful moments at SMS! Our 6th graders shared their creativity and courage during a poetry slam featuring original poems they wrote themselves. We loved welcoming their VIP guests to celebrate their hard work, voices, and confidence. What a beautiful way to end the year! ✍️🎤✨

Recess shenanigans with Mrs. Garcia. Leave your phone unattended for a moment and you end up with these cuties on your camera roll.

We loved having Mr. John visit our students last week! 💙
Students worked together on a “Mothers in the Bible” crossword puzzle as we continue celebrating the special women in our lives during this Mother’s Day season. Mr. John also wowed everyone with his balloon creations — especially the beautiful swan balloons! 🎈🦢
Thank you, Mr. John, for sharing your time, talents, and joy with our students!

Our first grade students recently began a new knowledge unit called The History of the Earth! 🌎🪨
After reading a story called Minerals, students learned about different minerals such as quartz, amethyst, and salt. To bring our learning to life, we explored a crystal collection up close using magnifying glasses to observe the different characteristics of each mineral — one of our new vocabulary words!
Hands-on learning helps bring curiosity and wonder into the classroom, and our students loved being little scientists and geologists for the day! 🔍✨
