🎓 Expanding Access. Inspiring Possibilities.

Our seniors at True North Academy are getting ready for what comes next! School Counselor Jessica Mang recently led engaging senior classroom lessons focused on increasing access to post-secondary education and helping students see themselves as successful college and career-bound graduates.

Through an interactive Four Corners activity and lesson students explored their plans, asked questions, and engaged in meaningful conversations about the college application process, post-secondary options, and the steps they can take now to set themselves up for success.

We’re proud to see our counselors creating engaging opportunities that help students feel informed, empowered, and confident about their futures!🎓

Class of 2027, your future starts now!

Tonight we hosted our Senior College & Post-Secondary Planning Night, helping students and families learn how to set themselves up for success in the college application and post-secondary planning process.

We covered everything from Class of 2026 admitted student data and what colleges are looking for, to our upcoming Ivy Tech field trip, apprenticeship and trade school opportunities, and financial aid resources. 💙🎓

And because planning for the future should be fun, students and families who attended were entered into a raffle for school spirit wear, fall musical tickets, and Grad Dance tickets — and we announced our lucky winners! 🎟️🎉

We wrapped up the evening with an incredible informational fair featuring representatives from IU Indy, Ball State, University of Cincinnati, Purdue, Butler, and Marian alongside Girls Inc., INvestEd, 21st Century Scholars, and the League of Women Voters. So many resources, opportunities, and people ready to help our students find their next step!

Senior families! Join us for Senior Parent College Planning Night on Tuesday, August 25. You’ll learn about the college application process and applying for financial aid, and you’ll have the opportunity to chat with admissions representatives from five local universities and with representatives from community programs and organizations too. The program starts at 6:30pm in the Birge Auditorium. Enter through Door 1 or Door 24. We hope to see you there!

Today, 96 of our seniors had the opportunity to meet with an IU Bloomington college representative right here at North Central!

IU Bloomington was one of the Top 5 schools applied to by the Class of 2026 — and the college conversation is just getting started for the Class of 2027!

Last year, the Class of 2026 submitted more than 4,000 college applications Will the Class of 2027 top that number?

Our Career & College Counselor has also begun classroom lessons in senior English classes, helping students navigate the college application process, explore post-secondary options, and make a plan for life after graduation. Next up?

North Central High School has been named one of only 12 schools statewide to receive the 2026–2027 Cambridge Math & Science Grant from the Indiana Department of Education!

This recognition will help strengthen math and science instruction, expand access to advanced coursework, and continue preparing our students for college, careers, and the opportunities ahead.

We are proud of the educators and leaders whose commitment to innovation and student success made this opportunity possible.
