It has been one year since the murder of George Floyd. His death sparked national conversations about today’s systemic racism and police brutality. And while his death was a catalyst for the movement, his story was not unique. Systemic and racial barriers continue to victimize and oppress people of color every day. His murder may have started the conversation, but it is vital we continue to examine our relationship with race—whether personal, professional, or institutional—to prevent similar tragedies as we work to make the world a fair and more equitable place for all.
