On Friday, Oct. 2, we’ll officially release the 2026 Indiana Mock Trial Case! This year, we’re moving the case release up by a full month, giving teachers, coaches, and students even more time to prepare, strategize, and dive into this year’s case.

But we’re not giving everything away just yet. Every Friday leading up to the big reveal, we’ll release a new teaser with clues about what this year’s case might have in store. Be sure to follow us on social media and see if you can piece together the clues before Oct. 2!

On October 23rd, The Indiana Bar Foundation and the Coalition for Court Access will host our annual Civil Legal Assistance Conference! Attendees can look forward to an immersive, diverse selection of sessions that will enrich knowledge in multiple aspects of civil legal aid.

Sessions will include best practices with AI, navigating multiple areas of legal consultation, client communication practices, court room strategies, and more!

Yesterday, our team visited the Campus Center at IU Indianapolis to participate in the Volunteer Fair!

It was a privilege to interact with so many young Hoosiers coming together to learn about how they can serve the community. We were especially happy to run into many Mock Trial and We the People alumni as we informed students about our volunteer opportunities throughout the year.

We cannot wait to see what the future brings for these outstanding students!

The Indiana Bar Foundation is conducting a survey to take inventory of civic education in Indiana schools. This 10-minute survey is designed to increase the understanding of how civic education has evolved across Indiana. Educators across the state have until Friday, September 11th to complete the survey. Those who complete this survey will be entered into a drawing for a chance to receive a $50 Amazon Gift Card!

If you are a high school junior/senior who wants to interact with our federal government, consider applying for the 2027 United States Senate Youth Program (USSYP)!

Alongside a $12,500 college scholarship, two high school upperclassmen in leadership positions from each state go on an all-expenses paid, week-long trip to Washington DC. Students chosen to participate will interact with the highest-level officials from each branch of government, and immerse themselves at the core of U.S. civics. This program is merit-based and very rewarding, so apply promptly!

Recent flooding across Indiana has left many Hoosiers picking up the pieces. If you or someone you know is struggling with legal paperwork in relation to the floods, considering visiting a free legal clinic at The Church at the Crossing on August 22nd.

The Indiana State Bar Association, Pro Bono Indiana, Inc. and One More are teaming up to host this clinic from 9 a.m. to noon to help those affected by the floods.
