We had an amazing time at our 3rd annual FDS- Head Start Family Night at the Indiana State Museum! ✨

Families from all eight of our locations came together for an evening full of exploration, learning, and connection. With special after-hours access, everyone enjoyed hands-on exhibits, interactive activities, and a lively musical performance that kept the energy high.

One of the most special moments of the night was seeing each child leave with a free book—helping spark a love of reading that continues at home. A huge thank you to Indy Book Project, Imagination Library, PBYS Kids, and Indiana State Library. 📚

Events like this create lasting memories and strengthen the bond between families and learning. We’re so grateful for this partnership and can’t wait for next year! Thank you to Bethany, Drew, and the entire Indiana State Museum team m for making this event one to remember!!!

Head Start Open Enrollment – May 2 Event

Join us for our Saturday walk-in event to complete your child’s eligibility intake in a simple, supportive environment.

Date: May 2
Time: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Location: 3637 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46208
(Family Development Services Administrative Office)

If your child will be at least 3 years old by September 11, 2026, we encourage you to attend. Families can apply for any Head Start or Early Head Start center.

What to bring:
• Child’s original birth certificate, passport, or foster placement letter
• Child’s shot records
• Last dental exam
• Health insurance card
• Well child visit summary
• Child’s IEP (if applicable)
• Last 12 months of income verification (2025 1040, child support, TANF/SSI/SNAP, SSD award letter, employer letter, or Pell Grants)
• Current paystub or current school schedule
• Parent/guardian photo ID
• Social Security card (if applicable)
