Ms. Heredia’s lower elementary classroom was busy digging into Montessori materials this week! 🧩📚🌱

Through hands-on work, our students are building independence, strengthening their problem-solving skills, developing concentration, and discovering the joy of learning at their own pace.

This is the beauty of Montessori: the materials invite the child to explore, the environment supports them, and the learning belongs to them. 💚

We love seeing our Wildcats engaged, curious, and taking ownership of their learning! 🐾

When Malcolm and Rosa get a project on the Indianapolis Recorder Newspaper they expect another history report. Instead, they’re transported into the heart of Indianapolis’ Black history, where the past comes alive before their eyes.

📰 "The Griot" is a moving and joyful celebration of storytelling, music, laughter, and the power of preserving the stories that shape our city.

📰 At the center of it all is The Indianapolis Recorder, one of the nation’s longest-running Black newspapers and an important part of Indianapolis history.

ReadUP is turning 20 this year, and we need volunteers to keep the momentum going! 📚

United Way of Central Indiana is recruiting volunteers to read with third graders across Boone, Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion, Morgan and Putnam counties this school year.

Third grade is a pivotal time, when kids shift from learning to read to reading to learn. Last year, 80% of ReadUP students showed measurable growth in their literacy skills!

All it takes is one hour a week. No teaching experience needed.
