One minute they’re walking through our doors for the first time, and before we know it, they’re walking across the graduation stage.

Thank you to our families for trusting us to be part of your child’s early learning journey. Watching your children grow has been an honor.

Congratulations to all of our Pre-K graduates! We are so proud of each and every one of you. ❤️

✨ Learning through play is always a win at Think Ahead Academy! ✨

Our Pre-K friends had so much fun during “Alphabet Racing” today! 🏁🔤 The children practiced letter recognition, identifying uppercase and lowercase letters, and working on letter sounds while racing with their classmates.

Activities like this help build early literacy skills in a fun, active, and hands-on way that keeps children engaged and excited to learn! We love finding creative ways to get our little learners moving while growing their minds. 💡❤️

Great job, Pre-K friends! 👏📚

The American Association for the Child’s Right to Play, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3), invites you to join us in celebrating Screen-Free Week in your state. This annual event encourages children, families, and communities to take a break from digital entertainment and enjoy activities beyond the screen. This year’s event is scheduled for May 4-10. While these dates support national awareness, Screen-Free Week can be observed at any time that best suits your state, school, organization, program, or family.
Recognizing the importance of limited screen use would provide important information of how screens are impacting healthy development.

Celebrated in the United States for 30 years, Screen-Free Week was founded in 1994 to encourage the reduction in TV viewing. It changed to Screen-Free Week in 2010 to include current technological advances that have exponentially increased the use of screens in schools and in homes. (Screen-Free Week, 2026)

While technology offers many benefits, it has also become increasingly intrusive, particularly for children, teens, and young adults. Previously, concerns centered on children as audiences for television advertising. Today, children’s attention, preferences, relationships, content, and even physical locations are collected, tracked, and sold by technology companies and brands worldwide. (Data Collection Practices of Mobile Applications Played by Preschool-Aged Children, 2020) This shift has led to concerning health and developmental outcomes.

Screen-Free Week’s purpose is to offer support, raise awareness of these challenges, and advocate for children’s rights to privacy and child-led play. Research shows that excessive screen use negatively affects children’s and teens’ mental health, contributing to increased anxiety, depression, poor body image, and higher rates of teen su***de. (Dai & Ouyang, 2025) The need to support families and schools in reducing screen time is urgent. Excessive screen use also impacts cognitive development, social and emotional growth, and physical health. (Muppalla et al., 2023)

Leading organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics, World Health Organization, American Psychological Association, Common Sense Media, and other concerned organizations encourage families to reduce and manage children’s screen time. They provide research-based guidelines, practical tools, and educational resources to help families establish healthy digital habits. I have included links to research articles below the References.
