We’ve officially been back at school for over a week, and Lower School classes are settling into the new school year!

Students have been getting to know their classmates and teachers, getting used to new schedules and Specials classes, reviewing skills from last year, and beginning their first units of the year. It’s been a busy first week and a great start to the school year!

Happy First Day of School, Gryphons!

This morning, Lower and Upper School families gathered on campus to kick off the 2026-27 school year with one of our most beloved traditions - the Bell Ringing Ceremony! Since August 1998, this ISI tradition has marked the start of each school year, echoing a joyful sound of new beginnings.

As an international school, we honor traditions from around the world, and bell ringing is a global symbol of fresh starts, celebrated across many cultures. Here’s to a year full of learning, growth, and community!

As an international school, we honor traditions from around the world, and bell ringing is a meaningful symbol of new beginnings across many cultures.

Next week, we'll gather once more for our Bell Ringing celebration, continuing a tradition that has brought our community together for nearly three decades. We look forward to seeing our Gryphons, families, faculty, and staff ring in another exciting chapter together!

Thank you to everyone in our community who joined us for today's Top of the Tower Celebration! This afternoon, families, alumni, supporters, and friends gathered to watch the final pieces of our replica Eiffel Tower lifted into place – a milestone moment for the ONE Future Campaign.

While the tower is now complete, this is just the beginning. We can't wait to share more exciting construction progress and campus transformations throughout the rest of the summer and into the new school year. Stay tuned for what's next!

Thank you again to Indiana Sports Corp, F.A. Wilhelm Construction, the Latinas Welding Guild, Schmidt Associates, JQOL Global, Gilliatte General Contractors, and numerous community supporters for making this possible.

Big things are happening on campus!

The past month has been filled with exciting progress on the ONE Future Campaign. Phase 1 is officially underway, with construction of the International Plaza and the replica Eiffel Tower in full swing. Next week, we'll celebrate a major milestone at our Top of the Tower Celebration as the final pieces of the Eiffel Tower are installed. Be sure to check our calendar for event details!

Behind the scenes, we’re also putting the finishing touches on plans for Phase 2, which will bring the Daneri Family Gymnasium expansion, including new locker rooms, athletics lobby, concession stand, and more, as well as the Blackwell Building addition, featuring a new strength and conditioning room.

Every step brings us closer to an even brighter future for the ISI community!

This summer, we're highlighting the meaningful learning experiences our students have through the IB curriculum at ISI!

In their Kindergarten Sharing the Planet unit, students explored how the choices we make every day affect the environment around us. Through hands-on activities and outdoor exploration, they discovered the importance of caring for our planet and the role each of us plays in protecting it.

Students learned about reducing, reusing, and recycling by giving everyday items a second life, including creating puzzles from old cereal boxes and using recycled materials for arts and crafts. They also spent time outdoors observing nature and discussing how we can make responsible choices that help keep our environment healthy!
