✨ Serenity Sundays is back! ✨

For our second Serenity Sundays series, we’re exploring the theme of Returning to Self. As the season changes, we’ll slow down and create space to listen inward.

This 4-week women’s series invites you to explore the transformative ways that horses, nature, reflection, and connection can help you reconnect with yourself, with others, and with the world around you.

If you know and love Cubano, read this post for an update! 🖤

A few little updates on Q:

• As of May, Q has lived about 10 minutes from me, allowing me to be much more involved in his day-to-day care. It’s pushed me to grow a lot as a horse owner, and getting to see him more frequently has been such a gift.

• He lives full-time with a herd of four other geldings. It’s a low-drama, happy little herd, and they’ve all gotten along really well. 🥰

• In July, I got a crash course in hoof abscess care. Q needed daily attention- soaking, poulticing, and wrapping his hoof- until the infection was resolved. Fun fact: he had an abscess in this exact same spot in 2025, just one month before I took ownership of him. Getting to care for him through the same issue this time around felt like a strange full-circle moment, and one that really cemented our bond. I’m hoping this poor guy never has to deal with that pain again!

• Q isn’t currently part of Stable Space programming, but having him nearby has given me so much more time with my horse. The benefits of that have far outweighed anything else!

He’s happy, loved, and still very much living his best Q life. I’m incredibly grateful that I’ve got this guy!

Exciting news! We are piloting a 4-week after school series called Steady Strides.

Let us come alongside and support your kids through the highs and lows of a new school year.

Our goal is to provide a safe space to decompress after school, practice a growth mindset, foster positive relationships, and build confidence that extends outside the barn.

This group will be co-facilitated by Amanda Eberhardt and Kathleen Ford. Amanda has a wide range of experiences as an animal educator and public school teacher. Kathleen is an equine specialist and former school psychologist.

We are excited to come together to bring you this series that is equal parts meaningful and fun!

What a special opportunity to bring together two worlds I care deeply about: school psychology and equine-assisted learning. 🐴💙

Stable Space recently had the privilege of partnering with colleagues at People & Animal Learning Services (PALS) and Indiana University School Psychology program for a collaborative back-to-school camp in Bloomington.

As a 2016 graduate of IU’s School Psychology program, it was especially meaningful to return to Bloomington and put those skills to work in a slightly unconventional setting — alongside horses!

Over two days, campers explored social-emotional learning through horse-centered activities, games, reflection, and connection with PALS’ incredible herd at their newly rebuilt facility. Five outstanding IU School Psychology master’s and doctoral students helped facilitate activities and brought so much creativity, curiosity, and compassion to the experience.

Stable Space provided a curriculum grounded in the CASEL framework for social-emotional learning, creating opportunities for campers to practice skills like self-awareness, relationship-building, responsible decision-making, and emotional regulation — all with the help of our equine partners.

Bloomington students are now heading back to school for the fall, and we’re wishing them a year filled with growth, connection, and confidence!

That’s a wrap on 2026 Stable Space summer programming!

We spent this last week building confidence, and learning how to work in partnership with horses and one another.

Highlights included ideal summer weather, joyful and energetic campers, calm and curious horses, and friendly barn cats.

We spent time learning about the body language of horses, grooming and snazzing up their manes and tails, learning to lead with confidence, exploring the nature trail, and creating expressive artwork.

We hope our campers go into the school year with a positive outlook and the confidence to overcome challenges!
