Highlights of today included shnazzing up Rhonda’s hair, finding a frog (Soupy), hiking in the sunshine, playing body language bingo, and leading Music and Duvall through a maze/figure 8/mini-jump sequence.
Can’t wait for day 3 of Horse Sense camp tomorrow!

Stable Space curriculum is heading south! Looking forward to this collaboration with my alma mater (IU School Psych) and the organization that re-connected me with horses more than a decade ago (PALS)!

This past week, Serenity Sundays invited us to slow down and explore sense of touch.
Touch has a powerful impact on the nervous system, supporting the release of oxytocin and dopamine and helping many of us feel calmer, safer, and more connected (especially when it’s a beautiful, gentle animal that we get to connect with)!
We explored a variety of textures, taking note of which felt soothing and which felt alerting.
We took time to observe how horses communicate through touch and proximity: moving toward and away from one another, setting boundaries, offering comfort, asking for space.
We reflected on our own relationships with touch and personal boundaries.
And best of all we experienced the velvety feel of a horse’s nose, silky softness of their hair, and contained power of their muscles.
We still have space in our final Serenity Sundays gathering on May 31. If you’re craving a chance to slow down with the gentle support of horses and nature, we’d love to have you!🐴✨

During our most recent Serenity Sundays we explored sense of hearing as a medium for finding ease and regulation. For me, it wasn’t easy.
