JROTC Is a program that was founded in 1917 with the passing of the National Defense Act. It does not recruit students to the military.

At that time, it was in place to recruit high school students into the Army. Now, the mission of the program has changed, JROTC helps to develop leadership, good citizenship, and appreciate the importance of physical fitness and health. It instead, teaches the importance of graduating from high school, learning about advancing ones education, being a better person, and learning about the history, purpose, and structure of military services.
