Intercollegiate YMCA- Indianapolis

The Intercollegiate YMCA in Indianapolis works with all of the major universities to get students engaged in the local communities. We'd love to hear from you!

We have a claim-to-fame at Butler University as one the first student organization on campus, and today our Butler students are doing awesome things. Ray of Hope, a new after-school tutoring program for youth on the West side of Indianapolis, is primarily run by Butler student volunteers. That program was modeled after the successful Laurelwood program, run primarily by University of Indianapolis

We share the grief and outrage felt by our community and the entire country as we grapple with the senseless death of George Floyd. There is no place in society for the injustice we continue to witness, and these events remind us all of our responsibility to fight against racism, inequality and division. Supporting human rights, justice and equality are fundamental to the mission of the YMCA and are aligned with our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

As an organization, we understand the opposite of love is not hate, the opposite of love is indifference. The YMCA of Greater Indianapolis will not be indifferent! We will continue to work to bring our community together and to be part of solutions that will bring hope and healing to our nation.

“What is the essence of life? To serve others and do good.” – Aristotle

Thank you to those who have donated their time to your YMCA – whether you volunteered once or multiple times. The Y would not be what it is today without the help of dedicated volunteers like yourself.
