Hip Hip Hurray! Join us for Jeans Fridays!

One of our robotics teams has qualified for the Vex Robotics World Meet in Dallas, TX. The competition begins in a little more than a week and we need to raise about $6000 to send them there. From now until the end of the school year, we will have Jeans Fridays to show our support for the InvestiGators! On April 21, April 28, May 5, May 12 and May 19, students and staff can pay $1 to wear jeans to school (no ripped or faded jeans please). Students must wear school uniform shirts or Guion Gator shirts, with jeans. Thanks for your support!

Uno de nuestros equipos de robótica se clasificó para el Vex Robotics World Meet en Dallas, TX. La competencia comienza en poco más de una semana y necesitamos recaudar alrededor de $6000 para enviarlos allí. ¡Desde ahora hasta el final del año escolar, tendremos Jeans Fridays para mostrar nuestro apoyo a los InvestiGators! Congratulations to Team D of the Guion Creek InvestiGators for winning a bid to the VEX World Robotics Competition in Dallas, which will take place in May 2023! At the State Meet on Saturday, the team also received the Jack Kline Award for showing kindness and sportsmanship through the competition season. This is such a special honor!
Jack Klein was an Indianapolis Public Schools student and robotics enthusiast who was diagnosed with Lymphoma as a third grader and passed away in 2016. He's remembered for his sense of humor, commitment to fun, knack for making friends, and love of robotics. His friends and family, known as Jack's Pack, honor his legacy by paying it forward with random acts of kindness they capture and share on social media using the hashtag .

Four out of the five team members are in these pictures. Great job, InvestiGators! Good luck at Worlds!

Kudos to Team C and Team D of the Guion Creek InvestiGators for competing at the state level for VEX Robotics on Saturday! Well done!

Special thanks to our coaches Mrs. Wong and Miss Schied, as well as our mentors Mr. Schlagenhauf and Mr. Yamash*ta. You do such a fabulous job of inspiring and leading our InvestiGators!

Ms. Karen Moore is a licensed psychotherapist, mother, sister and friend, who took time out of her busy schedule to speak to our fifth grade students in the Young Women of Purpose (YWP) Program. She spoke on various topics including self-esteem, mental health and more. I am truly grateful for the inspirational message she provided, and look forward to our next adventure!

Kudos to you, Ms. Fitts for being a wonderful representative of the Guion Creek Team!

In Ms. Nickolson's 5th grade class, students designed their own model of space rocket using materials such as aluminum foil, plates, cups, tissue paper rolls, and pipe cleaners. Students enjoyed building independently and showing off their designs to each other.
