A special shout-out to Nia who completed the chemistry major in three years and will be graduating in May!

Spring 2026 Interdepartmental Poster Session! Congrats to all who presented!

Butler students turned out in force to present their research & attend IU-Bloomington's Undergraduate Chemical Research Symposium. It was a wonderful day & a great opportunity to network with other chemists from around Indiana.

Chemistry and Biochemistry majors...

Drs. Benz-Moy and Black are running the last of the Cook with a (Bio)Chemist sessions on Monday, 4/20 at 5:15 in the Teaching Kitchen, LFH 337. They have room for an additional 3-5 participants to learn how to make Chinese dumplings and fortune cookies. Those who have participated in a previous Cook with a (Bio)Chemist session are invited to join this session as well.

The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry is pleased to announce that it will host the annual Research Boot Camp from August 17–21, the week before the start of the fall term.

Research Boot Camp is an excellent opportunity for students who are interested in research. Participants will work closely with a faculty mentor for one week to gain a better understanding of what research entails. In addition, students will learn about ongoing research in the department and have the opportunity to connect with research‑active faculty beyond their assigned mentor. (See pics from last year)

Dr. Morgan, the coordinator for Research Boot Camp will host two meetings to provide details about the program and the application process.
